Homeschool Musical Theatre Program

Perform. Grow. Shine!
At Valmy Academy, our Homeschool Musical Theatre Program offers something truly special — a place where children can feel seen, supported, and celebrated.

Whether your child is new to the stage or already dreaming of Broadway, our 8-week musical theatre program is designed to bring out their confidence, creativity, and connection to others — all in a safe, nurturing, and joy-filled environment, designed especially for homeschool families and neurodivergent children & teens.

Why Homeschool Families Love It

  • Perform in Just 8 Weeks: Our unique term structure follows Queensland state school terms, with a full performance in Week 8 — so families can still travel outside peak school holiday periods.
  • Professional Venue Performances: Every term, we take the stage at The Hope Centre in Bowen Hills, giving students a real theatre experience with lights, sound, and a professional audience setting.
  • Community, Not Competition: We focus on ensemble storytelling, kindness, and shared success — no auditions or star roles, just a celebration of each student’s individuality.
  • Connection Without Pressure: Students are gently guided through rehearsals, learning songs, lines, and movement through inclusive, structured sessions.

What We Do Each Term

  • Terms 1, 2 & 3 feature a Full Musical — with costumes, props, and staging — building performance skills and confidence.
  • Term 4 is our End of Year Showcase, where students perform highlights from each of the year’s musicals alongside all other Valmy Academy students on the BIG STAGE at The Hope Centre in December.
  • Families can enrol at any point in the year per term. Our program is designed to welcome new families each term.

How It Works

  • Classes run one day per week on Thursdays , 9:30am–2:00pm.
  • Students learn vocals, acting, dance, and ensemble performance skills.
  • No homework — everything is taught and rehearsed during class time.
  • Every student performs in costume in front of a live audience.  We provide the core costume pieces to ensure all students feel confident and stage-ready — but families are welcome to contribute items from home to personalise or complete their child’s look. There are no extra costume fees, hire charges, or surprise add-ons — everything is included.
