In our early childhood classes, learning is play based and joy led. We use music, story, movement, and simple props to build rhythm, listening, turn taking, and imaginative skills. Activities are short, varied, and age appropriate. We use clear routines, visual cues, and gentle transitions so little ones know what comes next and feel confident to join in.
We welcome each child at their own pace. Carers can stay nearby at first and, as confidence grows, we scaffold towards independence. Small wins are celebrated, from a first clap in time to a brave solo step. Our rooms are inclusive and sensory aware, with warm teachers, small groups, and a calm, encouraging tone. The focus is simple. Happy class. Safe exploration. Strong foundations for a lifelong love of the performing arts.
As students move into primary school, we guide them through more structured classes that develop core performance skills in acting, singing, and dance – while still keeping learning fun, imaginative, and connected to their sense of play. At this age, confidence-building is key. We focus on ensemble work, storytelling, voice development, musicality, and movement, all within a nurturing environment where effort is celebrated as much as talent.
These years are often when children start discovering what lights them up. We support that journey by encouraging curiosity, self-expression, and resilience. Whether they’re bursting with energy or just starting to come out of their shell, our classes help them take creative risks, grow in confidence, and build friendships rooted in trust and teamwork – both on and off the stage.
Our teen programs are designed to challenge and empower young artists who are ready to take their training to the next level. We balance technical growth with emotional intelligence, offering a space where students can explore complex material, collaborate deeply, and refine their craft in a supportive and inclusive community.
At this stage, students are often navigating identity, belonging, and personal pressure. We meet them there – with high expectations, compassionate teaching, and meaningful opportunities to perform, lead, and be heard. For those seeking professional pathways, we offer mentoring, audition prep, and our nationally accredited Certificate III in Community Dance, Theatre and Events. For those simply seeking a creative outlet, we offer a place to be themselves, express freely, and feel proud of the person they’re becoming.
At Valmy Academy, our classes are about more than learning to sing, dance, or act. They are about helping young people discover who they are and what they are capable of.
We believe that true creativity comes from pushing boundaries, trying new things, and exploring freely. That can only happen in an environment where children feel safe, supported, and valued.
Our vision is to create a space where students are encouraged to take creative risks, step outside their comfort zones, and grow in confidence, knowing they are surrounded by teachers who believe in them and peers who cheer them on.
From our tiniest toddlers to our emerging teen performers, every class is a chance to build resilience, courage, and community, not just skills. When children feel secure, they are not afraid to shine.
